TEACHING AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES AS KEY APPOINTMENT HOLDERS

The tutor is one of the selected small group of pioneer JC teachers to instruct on H2 Biology in MOE pre-universities. Within a year of being posted to teach Biology in JC since 2005 as a full-time Lecturer, he was gradually appointed as and assumed the full responsibility of:

The Tutor left MOE as a JC lecturer in 2009, to complete his dissertation in Masters in Life Sciences (Environmental Science) from Nanyang TechnologicalUniversity (Singapore), and has been a Full-Time GCE ‘A’ Level Biology Tutor since.

Employing his experiences gained as key appointment holders in school and national assessments, current and keen concepts in biological sciences, he has been able to help most of the tuition students under his care, improve from low grades (initial grades of ‘D’ and below, often ‘U’) to ‘A’ grade for H2 Biology in the final GCE ‘A’ Level Examinations. He explains that achieving a quality grade for H2 Biology is clearly possible from careful and customized guidance in using the Learning Model.

He incorporates changes in the H2 and IP Biology curriculum for the various schools and GCE ‘A’ Level Examinations into his teaching, via continual study of examiners’ reports, past year assessment questions and mark schemes from Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Centre, and an array of schools that his students come from.
